     About HIREAFAN.COM!

The site has been born after the World Cup of Soccer 2006. During the world cup, I was lacking loyalty to a specific country so I decided to auction off my loyalty via Ebay. The auction was a success with much media interest, and the business of hireafan was born. After my loyalty was secured for Serbia and Montenegro, I discovered there was a market of people that were willing to cheer for any game for a price. Hireafan.com was born for the duration of the world cup. Since the world cup the site has been given an overhaul to allow for other sporting events. Currently we support NFL and NHL games, with NBA games to follow, and MLB for next spring.

The concept behind this site is simple. Hireafan.com is exactly as is seems, you pay for a fan to cheer for your team for a specific game. In return for your fan purchase, you will receive advertising on this site, as well as a photograph of your fan in front of a television set during the game. If you’re lucky and the fan is local, it may even be a picture of the fan at a live game. It’s that simple.

People who wish to become fans for this site are welcome to sign up on our BECOME A FAN page. Fans that are selected for games will receive $5 via paypal once we have received the required photograph of the fan watching, or attending the game assigned.

World Cup 2006

Here are a few pictures and games summaries from a few of our World Cup fans!

Chris, a Fan from England on watching Brazil Vs. Australia

It was a fun match, I watched it with 7 Australia fans who were not at all happy (I share a flat with them), especially when Brazil scored. It was a bit hairy towards the end because Australia had a few good shots on goal. but in the end it looks like Australia can still go through as well, so everyone is happy. I actually spent 4 years in Brazil as a child, so I am quite chuffed to support them, and watching it on my big new 40" flat screen was magic!!

Mat, a Fan from Canada on watching Brazil Vs. Croatia

Dear hireafan.com

I really enjoyed getting picked to be a fan from your website. I hope to have more assignments in the future. I watched the game from work today on a TV enabled computer in our department (see pictures). It was an exciting game and it was great to see Brazil score right before the half. Kaka's "Top Shelf" goal was simply awesome. It was nailbitting in the second half as both sides came close to scoring, I was particularly worried in the 68 minute when Croation came close to scoring twice.

I have to admit, I was expecting our dear Brazilians to score at least 1 more goal, but I'll put up with the victory none the less.

Mat.
P.S I'll be available for future games at any time, just let me know. I can't believe I'm actually getting paid to watch a soccer game. Your site ROCKS!

Jacqueline, a Fan from Canada on watching Brazil Vs.Japan

Dear sponsor,

Firstly, let me take this opportunity to thank you for introducing me to the world of soccer. Although I (poorly) played recreational soccer when I was younger, I’ll admit that I’ve never actually watched a soccer game on T.V. in my life, until today. My city had a professional indoor soccer team for a few years a few years back, but I only went to one game while they were here. Needless to say, I wasn’t a soccer fan, but I’m your hired fan. A day or two before the game, I told my friend that I would be watching it, and he informed me that Japan was going to win. Japan! I think not. As a paid Brazil fan, I informed him that Brazil, in fact, would be winning the game.

The actually game was actually interesting. I didn’t realize that the field was so huge, and I didn’t know so many players played at one time. Since I had a team to cheer for, I found myself getting quite into the game. I cheered, screamed at the T.V. and got all excited. In my yellow t-shirt and green hoodie and headband, my heart actually sank when Japan scored the first goal. I was disappointed to the extreme and cheered even louder until Brazil scored their first goal.

It started to rain, and I was a little worried that the players would be wet, slipping and not doing their best. Luckily, Brazil was still working hard. When Brazil scored their second goal, I was beyond thrilled. I couldn’t believe that my team was winning, and I also couldn’t believe that I was getting so into a soccer game.

Then Brazil scored their third goal, and I didn’t care what my friend had said; Brazil was definitely going to win this soccer game. But then again, as I hadn’t watched a soccer game before that I could actually remember, I wasn’t actually sure how long the game was. I mean, what if there were another two hours left and Japan scored 8 goals in those two hours? I really wanted Brazil to win, though, so I kept cheering. I wanted Brazil to win.

It seemed like a lot of time passed after Brazil’s third goal. They seemed to be taking the game less seriously since they had a good lead. Finally, Brazil scored their fourth goal, and again, I was super excited. We were winning, and definitely going to win. Then we did win, and I did a little victory dance. Go Brazil!

Your fan,
Jacqueline
